Casmass is a passionate singer-songwriter from New York. The Knitting Factory was not ready to host such a fantastic act! Starting his set off with a dedication to his sister, he energized the crowd right away with his fast pace strumming and soulful vocals. People tuned into his live facebook feed from all over the nation to witness his amazing performance. Casmass isn’t all fervid passion; he’s also quite the comedian. He shared with the crowd that in his early years, his wardrobe usually included tight jeans. This was the catalyst for an impromptu sing-along as the crowd requested a song about ripped jeans. Later, after a guitar string popped during one of his songs, Casmass then joked about his “g-string.” Halfway through his performance, Casmass invited Emi Pellegrino to join him on stage. She kept up the pace with her tambourine and harmonic vocals. She calls on many musical styles such as opera, rock and roll, country, jazz and gospel, which gives her voice a very unique style. She’s not bad with that tambourine, either! These two have the energy of the universe flowing through their voices! When they come to play, they bring their all, and it shows in their music and performance. Every beat and lyric carries such meaning to these musicians, and the way they shared it with the audience was show-stopping. Casmass and Emi are definitely artists to follow!
