Mike Rocket is a native Philadelphia musician based in New York City. Mike has performed at numerous venues and festivals such as South by Southwest, Firefly, and has made small appearances on The TODAY Show. He has even recorded material for New Jersey radio station 101.5.

Although Mike has played with bands many times, he took the DROM NYC stage for one spectacular solo act. He performed all original music with his harmonica and acoustic guitar. Mike played some fan favorites, such as ‘Gotta Get to the Jersey Shore’ and ‘Two Girls in America.’ He also played his song ‘Claudette Clovin,’ in honor of Black History Month. Claudette Colvin was a pioneer in the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. She was arrested at the age of 15 for refusing to give up her seat to a Caucasian passenger nine months before Rosa Parks was praised for similar action.

Mike’s music has an overwhelmingly positive message! He uses his music to express his vision of a brighter future. His song, ‘Start Everyday the Right Way’ is one that will instantly snap you out of your 7 am grouchiness into your 8 am rise and shine. Many of his tracks are in the same spirit. ‘Dreaming of a Better World’ is Mike’s version of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ where he outlines what he envisions paradise to be. Let us hope that with musicians like Mike Rocket, a better world will be more than just a dream - it will be a reality.
